Best Cityscapes to be seen at your wedding in Minneapolis, Minnesota voted on by a Professional Wedding Photographer
The #1 Choice for Venues with the Best Cityscape in Minneapolis – The Calhoun Beach Club
Overall Rating: 4.6
Location – 4.5 Potential for traffic due to its popular location by lakes, but it’s worth it. There are so many wonderful places to take pictures within walking distance. It’s even home to one of my favorite wedding party cityscape shots!
Photo Aesthetic – 5 Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Each wedding will get unique photos there, because there are so many options for different pictures. There isn’t enough time in the day to utilize them all! This is a safe option when planning for any kind of weather. Plan A, B, and C available for great pictures.
Guest Accessibility – 5 Getting there is incredibly easy for guests, as there is underground parking managed by onsite valet.
Ceremony & Reception Space – 4 The only downfall is that there is no outdoor ceremony option. However, there are multiple awesome options for an pretty large indoor indoor ceremony, and a large reception to follow. A great situation for people who want to have their entire day at one spot.
The Calhoun Beach Club is ideal for bigger weddings (specifically a medium-large ceremony and large reception) that desire to stay all in one place. You can get married, take pictures SO many different places, and begin celebrating with all of your guests immediately!

The #2 Choice for Venues with the Best Cityscape in Minneapolis -The Nicollet Island Pavillion
Overall Rating: 4.5
Location – 5 Amazing. Smack dab in the middle of the Mississippi with gorgeous views surrounding. Not to mention all the charm and wonderful food and drink options right next door on St. Anthony Main! Your guests will surely be entertained, regardless of your day’s schedule.
Photo Aesthetic – 5 Great classic, vintage meshed with industrial esthetic. The entire venue totally channels the historic St. Anthony Main style. Complete with brick walls, natural light, green space, and gorgeous city scape views all around.
Guest Accessibility – 5 Easy to get to and easy off street parking for guests right at the venue. The entire venue is on one level, complete with an outdoor tent and large indoor space as well.
Ceremony & Reception Space – 3 Almost every client I have ever shot has chosen to have their ceremony at a different location. Understandably, because in order to have an indoor ceremony, it would need a lot of decorative work – the space is pretty plain. However, the space is huge and diverse, you can have a large group of people and make your reception your own by utilizing the space how you desire.
A wedding with a large reception! Transform the gorgeous space to fit your needs and take it easy on decorating because the gorgeous interior and city views speak for themselves!

The #3 Choice for Venues with the Best Cityscape in Minneapolis -The Depot
Overall Rating: 4.5
Location – 5 The Depot is in the heart of Minneapolis, bordered by the Mississippi River. Not far from Interstate 35W it’s easily accessible from guests traveling from out of town. Parking is abundant, and there are many churches nearby if you prefer a more traditional ceremony location.
Photo Aesthetic – 5 Big, bright and beautiful. There are practically countless options for wedding photos at the Depot Minneapolis. Gorgeous options inside and out. It is also VERY close to Nicollet Island, St. Anthony Main and the Stone Arch Bridge.
Guest Accessibility – 5 Excellent. Easy to get to, plenty of parking, everything is on one level (aside from the guest rooms).
Ceremony & Reception Space – 3 The Depot has two rather large event spaces. The size can be intimidating for smaller groups. The high ceilings can also be challenging if you are going for that “cozy” feel. We do LOVE the natural light from the large windows on the western ballroom!

The #4 Choice for Venues with the Best Cityscape in Minneapolis – The Millennium Hotel
Overall Rating: 3.5
Location – 3 Located in the middle of downtown. This is a pro and a con. There are tons of places for your guests to hang out, eat, drink, many options for bride and groom and bridal party shots, and the downtown vibe is definitely cool, but it can be hard for guests to deal with the commotion of downtown.
Aesthetic – 4 Absolutely amazing interior. The dome provides a beautiful cityscape backdrop for all your ceremony and reception pictures. However, it is limited. It’s a small space and there aren’t a lot of different spots to take pictures inside, and they all look somewhat similar.
Guest Accessibility – 3 This venue can be a little tricky for guests who are not used to driving and/or parking downtown, especially if they’re from out of town.
Ceremony & Reception Space – 4 The dome is absolutely amazing for a small ceremony and dance floor. But as your guests list grows, you run the risk of feel cramped. There is also no outdoor option, which might be problematic depending on your preferences. amazing dome for a small ceremony and dance floor but can’t hold a lot of people.
A small, indoor wedding. The styling of the dome can be a perfect backdrop for a wedding with minimalistic, modern decor (or a dance party vibe), but definitely won’t serve as a compatible backdrop for all bride’s esthetics.
